Product Questions

What is Keen-Canine?

Biologically complete whole-animal nutrition derived from American Chinchilla Rabbit. Not a treat—complete nutrition as canine biology evolved to recognize.

What’s in each morsel?

The entire animal: meat, bone, liver, heart, lungs, spleen, and pancreas. Nothing added. Nothing removed.

How is it prepared?

Dehydrated at low temperature to preserve biological integrity. No cooking, no processing, no additives.

What is the texture/size?

Small, dense morsels. Texture varies naturally based on the composition of each animal.

How much does each package contain?

1.4 ounces net weight.

How long does it last?

Unopened: 12 months from production date. Opened: 6 months when stored in cool, dry place. Refrigeration extends freshness.

Sourcing Questions

Where does the rabbit come from?

Exclusively from Rit Shabbit Enterprises LLC, a single heritage rabbitry in Colorado.

What is American Chinchilla Rabbit?

A heritage breed recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association. Maintained under ARBA breed standards for preservation purposes.

Are the rabbits raised for consumption?

No. Only rabbits not retained for breed preservation are selected for production. Nothing is bred specifically for consumption.

Is this USDA inspected?

Production follows all applicable USDA and Colorado state regulations for pet food products.

Are there any additives or preservatives?

No. 100% rabbit. Nothing else.

Availability Questions

How many batches are produced annually?

Twelve micro-batches.

How many packages per batch?

Production varies based on ethical selection. Each batch uses three or fewer rabbits.

When will more be available?

Public allocations are limited. After Founders Release #001, availability is through private invitation only.

Can I pre-order future batches?

No. Pre-orders are not accepted.

Will you expand production?

No. Production is limited by ethical constraints and will not expand.

Pricing Questions

Why is it so expensive?

The price reflects ethical production limits, single-source heritage lineage, and biological completeness. It also serves to align with customers who understand the value of lineage and provenance. The constraints make this available to a very limited number of people.

Are there discounts available?

No. Pricing is non-negotiable.

Do you offer payment plans?

No.

Monthly Allocation Program

What is the Monthly Allocation Program?

A private stewardship program for select households. One 1.4 oz allocation per month.

How do I join?

Purchase of Founders Release #001 grants eligibility for consideration. Acceptance is selective and not guaranteed.

Can I skip months?

No. No pauses, skips, or modifications to delivery schedule.

How do I cancel?

Email stewardship@keen-canine.com with 30 days advance notice. See Refund Policy for complete terms.

What if I need to pause temporarily?

We do not offer pauses. You must cancel and reapply, with no guarantee of re-acceptance.

Feeding Questions

How do I feed this to my dog?

Introduce gradually over 7-10 days. Use as training rewards, high-value treats, or dietary supplementation. See feeding guidelines included with your order.

Is this a complete diet?

No. This is supplemental nutrition. It should not replace a complete and balanced diet.

Can puppies eat this?

Consult your veterinarian before introducing any new foods to puppies.

My dog has allergies. Is this safe?

Single-protein source (rabbit only). However, consult your veterinarian regarding specific dietary restrictions.

Does this contain bone?

Yes. The entire animal includes bone. Monitor consumption as appropriate for your dog.

Shipping & Returns

Where do you ship?

United States only.

How long does shipping take?

7-10 business days for Founders Release. Monthly allocations ship on your enrollment date.

Do you provide tracking?

No tracking emails are sent.

What if my package is lost or damaged?

See our Refund and Returns Policy. Replacement requests must be submitted within 48 hours of delivery.

Can I return this?

No. All sales are final. See Refund Policy for eligible replacement circumstances.
